The Elder’s House is so excited about our first resident to graduate from high school.  He happens to be our first resident to be admitted into The Elder’s House.  Not only did he graduate, but he graduated with honors!  The Elder’s House assisted our first resident to apply to his desired university, West Virginia University.  He was accepted in the fall of 2019 and is the first recipient of a $5,000 scholarship from The Elder’s House Scholarship Foundation through a partnership with The Mount Global Fellowship of Churches and K.W. Brown Ministries, Inc. Those funds will be used to help pay his tuition.

Our resident plans to major in Journalism as well as study Criminal Justice.  With our mentor program, our resident was able to forge a relationship with mentors from our Mentor Programs with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).  He was highly impressed with the program and the agents. Once he graduates from West Virginia University, he wants to apply to be a FBI agent and use his degree in the bureau.  Our resident applied for the FBI internship,  before COVID-19 put a halt on the program.

The Elder’s House salutes our first resident!
